Location: 160 Central Park South, New York
Surface Area: 509 Rooms
Year Completed: 2012
Project Scope: Existing Conditions Survey
Opened in 1931, the Essex House is a 44 story luxury hotel and residence with 509 Art Deco style rooms, located on the southern border of Central Park at 160 Central Park South. The hotels trademark 6 story red neon sign is an iconic part of the New York City skyline.
The Challenge
The project management firm hired by the new ownership to renovate the Essex House engaged Measure Up to create a full set of existing conditions drawings of the entire 509 room historic hotel. Our field technicians conducted and coordinated a comprehensive room by room survey to digitally show all fixed partitions, windows, doors, columns, core components, ceiling heights, sills and head heights at windows. We also created reflective ceiling and plans in many requested areas.
